My husband felt like having champagne with his leftovers for dinner last night, so since there was a bottle of Maison Lenique 2005 in the fridge we drank it! Champagne always tastes that much better when there's no real reason for drinking it.
My husband and I celebrated our 15th anniversary in 2008. Knowing my penchant for all things sparkling, my husband thus deemed our anniversary year 'The Year of Bubbles'. It didn't occur to me then to document all of the bubbly we would drink in the course of the 12 months. But today, my husband was commenting over lunch that a colleague of his had acquired a case of champagne and was having a hard time finding the 'right reason' to drink it. Right reason?? During our year of bubbles, we found there was no such thing - simply being alive and breathing was a good enough reason to pop a cork. So, to encourage you all to drink more bubbles without having to find a reason, here's what happens after 'The Year of Bubbles'.
